About
Dronfield RC.
Dronfield RC are a England Athletics affiliated running club based in Dronfield, NE Derbyshire.
We operate two club runs per week, our own championship series and compete on road, cross country, fell and trail. We also have regular social gatherings organised by our vibrant and inclusive community.
DRC Runners are regulars at parkrun and races across the area and we have a very diverse membership with a strong core of fast runners that compete at the sharp end of races and ultra marathon runners right through to casual and social runners and absolutely everything in between.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club who's door is open to runners of all abilities however, we also place a lot of emphasis on self improvement and encourage all of our athletes to strive to be the best version of themselves.
Our core aim is for everyone to enjoy being a member of Dronfield Running Club, to have fun and explore the wonderful possibilities that running has to offer whilst challenging themselves to improve and develop as athletes.

CLUB
HISTORY.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 lock down period, a group of Dronfield based runners created a friendly, handicapped solo race series to keep themselves active and racing during a period where formal competition and training events had all but vanished.
What started out as a bit of a laugh grew into something amazing, utilising the local trails and routes, challenging courses were set and good natured competition developed.
Discussions were held about how to build upon the camaraderie and spirit that had grown amongst us and the seed was planted for the creation of Dronfield Running Club.
The club achieved affiliation with England Athletics in August of 2020.
